Middle school (ages 12-14) band of about 50 students preparing to make an audition recording in their school auditorium. Two akg c 414 b-uls multi-pattern large diaphragm condenser mics were placed about 10 feet (about 3 meters) above the ensemble on the far right and far left, with a røde nt4 stereo condenser mic at the same height located in the middle of the group. At first, the cars pass through in front of the school. And then, the people were talking around and pass by us when we went through the school-yard. We walked up the stairs and pass through the playground, we heard children playing basketball. We heard the balls hit the ground and the children screaming and shouting. Beside that, there was a sound of repairing near the terrace. At the end, we arrived canteen and we heard the students talking.

It's recess time at san lorenzo de el escorial's real colegio alfonso xii's boarding school, madrid, spain. Children are playing games, mainly soccer, on escorial monastery's front esplanade, apparently used as a schoolyard. High pitched voices blend with bypasser's conversations.
